Jared started
riding motorcycles when he was about 7 yrs old with his father Curt
Lange. He learned to ride dirt bikes in the desert and continues
riding there on a regular basis. Jared developed his skills at the
Tulare Cycle Park in Tulare, California. Jared's family helped
to develop the facility in early days with the Monger family.
From age of 8
until he was 16, Jared was a topped ranked year round swimmer in
Central California. When he was 15, he took up golf and fell
in love with it. During that time, he was the #1 golfer and
one of the top swimmers at his high school. He earned many MVP and
various award and varsity letters during high school.
Jared
went on to College to continue Golf, collecting many awards.
Due to his
schooling, he did not start racing motorcycles until he was 16.
At this age, he was introduce to motocross while competing in AHRMA
events with his dad on a Honda Elsinore 125. Racing in the
intermediate class, he won three times in a row and was moved to the
expert class.
Shortly
after moving to the expert class, Jared was approached by Jim
Nation. Jim wanted Jared to race his bike and since Jared's
dad, Curt, knew Jim since the 1970's, they accepted graciously.
To date, Jared is still competing on Nation built bikes.
Jim built the
Classic 125 that Jared rides for his dad. Jared borrowed it
from his dad and has yet to return it!
